Mr. Luigi Carrarini earned his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in 1997.
With decades of experience in Intelligent Transport Systems, he is currently the Head of the Centre of Excellence for Smart Roads & Structural Health Monitoring at Anas, the Italian authority responsible for national roads.
In this role, he drives innovation by managing projects aimed at transforming Anas’ infrastructure and operations. Mr. Carrarini is the author of numerous technical papers on tunnel safety, infrastructure planning, and road tunnel technology and co-author of Anas’ tunnel safety guidelines.
He is also the Deputy Vice President and Technical-Scientific Coordinator of the Italian PIARC Technical Committee on Autonomous Driving, Connectivity, and New Technologies for Road Safety and Network Management.
